UPDATE:
I talked with my repair man and he said all he did was power the unit off my holding down the power/ATT button.. in the past my dad would do the same thing when he drove my car because hes technically challenged and couldnt work it.. This would always require a reset on the unit or the use of the remote control to power the unit back on.(idk if my power button is the issue here or not, the button worked for Attenuates) But i lost the remote along time ago and the reset button is also not helping this time.
So far i took out the unit and let it sit overnight, hard wired the unit directly to a battery and got the same result, power/att button lights up but the unit wont not power on.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
-Is there anything i can try that i haven't already? im pretty good with electronics so if opening the unit up and looking around would help its a possibility at this point..
-is it possible the remote could turn it on if i ordered one? is there a way to program a universal remote?
-or am i just **** outta luck?
ORIGINAL POST
i have a JVC KW-AVX810 head unit (double din 7" touch screen), installed in a 1998 Lexus ES300.
Iv had this unit a few years now and installed it myself. The unit has always worked without any issues.
I put the car in a local shop to get the valve cover gasket, timing belt, etc. changed. When i picked it up the HU screen wouldn't turn on. The power button lights up(as it would when the HU is powered off) and when i push the reset button i can hear the head unit make noise. but the LCD screen doesn't turn on nor does the usb stick thats plugged in light up..
Do y'all think the screen/HU is fried? i checked all power connections and they seem fine..
Any advise what to troubleshoot next would be greatly Appreciated!!
Also any info on what could have caused this to happen would be helpful so i can present my case to the repair shop.
THANKS, hazed
edit, also the HU is sending power thur remote wire to amps..
