where to position subs

I drive a 97 cadillac deville so space is not an issue, however I am trying figure out the best place to position my subs for the best sound possible. I was told that I should do some form of a cut throuhg on the back dash for best sound however if that can be avoided I would like to do so. This is for 2 15in PG TIs. This is a sealed box. All help is appreciated.
