Where to place the amp?

I have a 2003 GMC Sonoma Extended Cab that I built a nice little box for and I need to hook up the amp. I had originally planned on putting it under the seat, but it won't fit. A friend said to take the back off the jump seat off, but I am hesitant to do that as it tends to get quite a bit of use. I am thinking about just drilling holes through the back of the truck, mounting a piece of wood to it and the amp to to the wood, but I think it would be somewhat conspicuous. Any other (inexpensive) ideas as to where I can put the amp?

Sub box can work, but sometimes vibrations arent good for it and can loosen components inside ofit.

yeah, directly on the sub box is a bad idea... too much vibration!
