Where to fuse?

I always ran a distribution block (2 Amps) and fused that to the amp, are you supposed to fuse the wire under the hood as well, or both, under the hood and the distribution block? Or either or would work

You always want to fuse at the battery, to protect from shorts/fires. Distribution blocks are good to fuse, especially if outgoing wires are long and smaller than is safe to protect with the main battery fuse.
