Where to buy converter?

You are in San Diego correct? Look in your Yellow Pages under automotive stereo/electronics for the nearest car audio shop(s), call them up and ask them if they have what you are looking for. Also you might want to check Pep Boys/Kragen/AutoZone.....

Anybody know a store that sells speaker level converters that have a remote turn on lead? I went to Walmart and only found the Scosche converter which doesn't have the remote lead. I've found them online but would like to pick one up today.
Thanks.

hmm... i don't understand why you need remote turn on lead on the converter. i always thought you just run the remote turn on lead from HU straight to amp..... ??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

kwang, factory headunits more than likely won't have the remote on lead. However, this also means that you more than likely won't be able to find a LOC with one unless it is an active unit (needs 12V power) rather than a passive unit (doesn't need 12V power source).

Just find a different "remote on" lead. Tons of ways to do it. Find an unused slot in your fuse box that only comes on when the car is running or is in accessory, and plug a spade connector in there. Or, find the iginition wire, etc etc etc.

Yeah I think I'll just tap into the ignition wire into the HU, installdr.com has it as the yellow wire. I'll confirm that.

Thanks guys. Is there any benefit to using a line converter as opposed to the speaker level inputs on the amp? I always assumed the speaker level inputs were just a built in line converter. I only ask because I bought the converter, but will just return it if there is no benefit.
