ok...got my (2) 2000 spl's on the way, and im going to build a custom ported box, i want it to be about 3.5 cu. ft, (1.75 per sub), tuned to 34Hz, i was gonna build just a rectangle ported box and put it on the flat part behind the back seats, but started thinking about building a box to go down in the dip between the taillights and the flat "plateau" i was originally going to put my box.....i heard somewhere that when putting a box in a hatch, it's better to go as far down as you can go so the bass is spread throughout the whole cab, where as if you put it up against the back glass, it will just roll over the top of the cab...(don't know if this is true, correct me if im wrong), does anyone have any experience putting a box down in the dip of a hatch car (preferabbly a 3rd gen. camaro)???is there enough room? i think there is, any help would be greatly appreciated.......

Just calculate the volume of the dip in ur trunk and build a box 2 fit down in it. I thought that sub need 1.5cubic feet each?

1.75 cuft (PORTED) NET VOL. without port displacement

i just designed one at 37hz for single 2000's with dual ports, its around 3.5 cuft

1.5 cuft ( sealed)

My friend had two CVR's in a sealed box in his Camaro. They were right up on the hatch and it sounded loud as **** *and not shitty*.
