Where should I put my subs

I have a 1993 Toyota Tercel with 2 Alpine Type R's in vented boxes. When I put the boxes firing to the rear of my trunk it makes my latch rattle like crazy. I lined everything else with padding and now it doesnt rattle except for the latch so if anyone can tell me how to stop this stupid latch then this would solve my problem otherwise is there any other place that would be ok to put them? I had them firing towards the front of the car but the bass sounded blobbing and overall like crap so any help would be appreciated thanks.

Try facing them every different direction until you find a spot that you like. To stop the rattling you might want to try some dynamat, or something like it. Soneone on here also suggested to try extra weatherstripping around stuff too.

the industrial carpeting cuts down the rattles i'm sure but does it increase cabin pressure like 2nd skin, edead, dynamat, cascade all that good stuff?? i've never bothered to try anything other than dynamat xtreme b/c i get the door kits of 12sq ft for 35 bucks so i'm happy.
