nice idea for 2nd battery!
I am liking that idea a lot!

did you cut the "pocket" out or you removed the whole panel to remove the pocket and put in the battery?
for some reason he already had the pocket out, but i did remove the whole panel for the install.

i just went ahead and removed that whole rear panel, ran the wire from front batt to the rear batt. Then from the rear batt, to the amplifier. Zipp tied everything, then put the panel back on, that way i did not need to drill any holes in the factory panels.
thats cool, I might do this in near future if I need an additional battery..

also did you cut the pocket out or it would pop right out?? EDIT: sorry didnt see you made another post about the pocket.. thats cool then.. like I said i ll keep this idea in mind.. thanks

im guessing that it just pops out. It was already gone when i did the install.

ok. i dont have a rear batt so i think that is what i'll end up doing. ( drilling hole in the bottom of the storage comparment. ) then hide amps behind box. hopefully everything will go ok. I will post picutres on what im doing and if i need any help i will give you all a hollar on here.

that pocket just pulls out, my batts are too big to fit in there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ive been trying to find something to use it for

amps under the false floor works great for me, ive had them under there for a long time, no problems at all, the back of the box will work fine also

all i did was add 2 80mm computer fans to **** air out just to be safe, wired them up to a relay and perfect

on this system i built a new floor and took all the factory pieces out because i dont want to screw into them

i put his amp behind the box.

so nothing but what i wanted to see, could be seen.

i agree with this one. this is like what i did with my Trailblazer but my amp is mounted at the lower part of the backseat instead of the box.

we have the same space there because the backseat has a slight backward angle. it's a good "stealth" amp location.

cool, I was thinking about adding a kinetik hc1800, or another optima yellow top behind that panel if it fits..

to OP, if you plan on running the amps behind the panel then I d highly recommend you to make some kind of a ventilation and add a fan or two.. just to be safe you know

It's not going to be behind panel. Just behind box. Where that extra flap folds over when you fold down the 2nd row seat. I'm going to drill holes in it and bolt it to it.

I mounted my girls amp on the back of the seat in her explorer there is no ventilation behind there. Just get a couple computer fans hook them up and mount them on the back of the box blowing across the amp to get good ventilation.
