I have a jbl gtq200 amp. I have it bridged to run a set of components at 100 watts a piece but they have 90 watts max. I am trying to set the gain and was wondering around where I should set it at. I have a kenwood cd player KDC 6040 or something like that. Is straight up and down 0 gain or is all the way to the left 0 gain or what. Currently i have it between 10 o clock and 11 o clock if you look at the gain dial like it's a clock. I don't want to turn it up and blow the speakers, what should I set it at. Thanks.

Depends on the preout voltage of your HU...

Do this...

1) Turn your gain all the way down (if your gain goes from 150mv-8V, set it to 8V)

2) Put your HU volume a few notches higher than you ever plan to listen to it.

3) Turn all bass/treble/EQ settings off

4) Slowly start turning the gain up towards the 150mv.

5) When you begin to hear distortion, turn it back down a little bit, and you're good to go.
