Where is the Parking Brake Switch?

I am hooking this up for a friend, I don't feel like buying or rigging up a relay. I am using a pioneer head unit by the way. Does anyone know where the brake switch is?

last i checked there is not buying or rigging involved, it's just connecting it to a ground.

you cant just ground pioneers. have to be on relays

or switch\

He is correct you can not just ground Pioneers. Has anyone ever hooked this up the proper way? :p
yes i have and if it is a avh-????dvd it is easily bypassed (not just grounded) but switched ground .......can be done with relay or just a simple toggle switch (one end to ground and other to parking brake lead)

the avic (navigation units) like the Z130bt or Z1140 bh or X930bt or X940bh require a moving a pin in a/v harness and grounding it along with the parking brake wire.

but to answer the Question you asked the parking brake wire is located @ the lever under the center console / while there is nothing published on the wire itself , it will be very easy to locate,, on the base of the lever there will be a wire (connected to a pin ) that goes to ground when the brake is engaged. (it must go to ground) just use that and "viola'" you are hooked up "legal"

good luck

Haha finally an answer that I was looking for! Not to dis anyone else but this is what I was needing. And yes it is a AVH-P2300DVD. Since this is not my install in my car I want this done correctly so I am not going to bypass it with a relay, or toggle switch.

Okay so you said it is a "lever" under center console. I am a bit confused what lever you are referring to, and where I should be seeing the wire.

the parking brake is a lever in the center console (you pull it up to engage)

the should be a signal wire @ the base ( this should go to ground when engaged)
