Help building first system - complete budget stereo

Hi, Im new here, and I need some help. I have no experience with car stereos but I have done a bit of research and understand the basics. I bought a car two days ago and its stereo was stripped out at some point in time. I am looking to put a stereo in the car for as cheap as possible. The current car has no components in it - Just the old wiring. My project requirements are: 1. Head unit must have a aux in port, and 2. I want to try to spend less than 150$. This means I will be shopping at pawn shops and figuring out how to install the components myself. The car is already wired to have a sub and an amp for it.

I can figure out how to do the installation and such myself, and I can figure out what brands to stay away from, but I need help on the electrical side. What kind of numbers should I be looking for in the components? Amp and sub wattage and impedance, speakers max wattage, rms, impedance, channels, head units channels, rms, wattage... I understand what these figures are and what they mean, but I dont understand how they interact with the other components. Again, im not looking for what numbers constitute the best possible component, but what numbers are required to make the system work.

Attached are some pictures of the amp power cable. I understand that the red wire is the power to the amp, blue wire is a amp power on signal that goes to the HU, and the other two give the signal from the HU to the amp/sub. How do I know what the existing amp power cable can support? How can I check if its properly grounded? I see the clear plastic thing for the fuse, but it doesnt look like theres anything in there. How do I know what kind of fuse I need and where can I get one? The battery looks like it was recently replaced. There is no connection for the amp cable. How do I connect it? I have a very small car. Do I need to worry about overdrawing the battery or alternator? If so, what wattages should I try to stay under?

I know that was a brick of text and I had a ton of questions, but thanks for your help preemptively from a hopeful future car stereo owner.

You should rewire the system. You don't know much about the stuff that came with the car. Looks like some cheap 12 gauge monster cable or something. I'd start with replacing that and the RCA's.

There is no way to just test the old wiring? I can throw a speaker in and attach some wire, but I dont know if I can tear that wire out and put a new one in myself.
