Where in the world would this fit? Biggest sub ive ever seen!!!

Richard Clark and MTX made a 5 foot diameter sub (or was it 6 foot ?) that could handle dozens of kilowatts, IIRC ...
It was 6 foot, with about 90kw strapped to it.

Where would you put that Audiobahn? Hopefully in the trash....cause that's where it belongs.

adire took down the page,

but the adire parthenon could whip the crap outta that thing;

http://archive.avsforum.com/avs-vb/history/topic/346996-1.html

"The Adire Audio Parthenon - It is a motor structure with over 12" of excursion -- This motor structure on a baffle can fill up a large theater with gut-wrenching 5hz bass, easy... 1 of them..."

that crappy MTX jackhammer is a 22" sub (or whatever) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

and resonant engineering have a sub thats called the XMX that is similar in application to the parthenon.

audiocrap 34" sub = big ash tray

Some of that's wrong. The parthenon has an xmax of about 8" p2p, so 12" is quite a large exaggeration...they would have to modify the motor and coils rather dramatically to get 12" p2p out of it

you do know that the excursion and basically the entire driver is custom made.

the parthenon page actually said that up to 12" is possible with custom tooling, a larger VC, longer rods and some other stuff. i wish i could quote it but they took it down. like they said tho - the driver is completly custom and they will make it to the users spec. so 12" p2p is possible IIRC. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I seen one of the clarion monster subs at a car show once. It was in the back of an old tanker truck. He cut the back of the tank open and made a box inside. It fit almost perfect. He said he couldnt turn it on or they would kicke him out of the convention center. He also said he had to have the emergency brake on ot it would move the truck. Something like 2-3000 watts going to it.

I think that was probably somewhat of an exageration. Point being, there are a few on this forum running 2-3kw without having to do crazy shit like that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Sure it's possible. but not with the current parthenon motor, they'd have to tool completely different parts than the one everyone has seen, which I'd wager would raise the cost as well.

A 36" Audiobahn sub would be perfect, just have it up firing and mix drinks in it with about 20 watts and 10hz. =)

Oh, and the whole Parthenon debate. IIRC it's said that in it's driver form with no suspension, 12" P2P was pretty easy. However once you attach a spider, cone, surround, basket, and all that fancy stuff home / car audio enthusiasts want you lose about 30% of it's excursion. I could only assume every speaker in existance is like that.
