Where do you mount?

I was wondering... I dont want to lay it on the floor as it will take up trunk space but I dont want to screw into the back of my seat. How many of you mount your amps to your box? Is it a smart move? Will it weaken the box / hurt the amp with the vibrations?

I have put a lot of amps on the back of batteries and never had problems.But I have heard a couple from people over the years from vibration and things that caused damage.But I guess its all personal oppinion.

If I had a trunked car, I'd build a false floor. Cleanest way to do it, IMO.

Everything in the trunk (where your subs are, right?) is going to be subjected to the same vibrations, whether the item in question is immediately adjacent to / attached to the sub enclosure or located elsewhere back there, no?Food for thought..

put a board on the back of the seat, if you can put the board behind the carpet do it, if not get some carpet and put it on the back of the seat.

Or if the sub box is bolted in so it doesn't move put it on that, just use short screws, so you dont comprimise the sealed enclosure. (easier to streal with the subz, I would do the seat.)

You can mount amps on the box. Don't mount them on in the middle, but somewhere on the corner so that there is less vibrations due to the hard edge of the box.
