freecreditreport.com has worked for me in the past, I pay monthly now at truecredit though as I had a lot of bills to catch up on and it helped to make sure they were getting taken off during the process.

The general idea is you signup for your free report, then once you get your report you need to cancel or they will automatically bill you monthly. What I used to do was signup, get my report and cancel all in one sitting so I did not forget and you will not be billed anything.

Thats actually a front end to get your report directly from each of the 3 credit bureaus....the gov says you get atleast one free every year, that page is the mechanism to do it.

Correct, no score there. If you want a real fico score you have to go to http://www.myfico.com and pay. Scores other sites across the net give you are worthless...not even close to your actual fico score which most lenders use.

yea im not worried about that. i can do that no problem. hell do you know how many free magazines i got becuase i signed up for a subscription to auto magazines, car stereo mags, etc etc only to recieve the trial issue and then cancel? lol i got stacks of them.

i was only worried about it because this involves, social security numbers etc all over the internet, which isnt THAT safe of a place anyways.

i know when i wanted to apply for a card from my bank, i noticed they offered free credit scores and stuff. never did go for it though.

On a side note, I suggest you look into LifeLock.com so you never have to worry about bogus stuff on your credit report or identity theft.
