I'm not sure what the correct term for them is, but I'm looking to buy a couple of small hydrolic struts? I'm building an amp rack that is jointed/hinged in the middle so I can lift the back portion up and get to my spare tire well. It's pretty heavy so I was thinking I would try to rig it with the same type of thing that holds a car trunk open. You know the little hydrolic piston like thingees. Any help on where I might find these would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think pep boys might have trunk & hood struts in stock. I know they did before. Might want to check them out.
