where can I find these? the terminals at the end of the wires to hook on to the batteries. and what is the name of them?

http://www.shipsound.com/product_info.php?products_id=100677 (the small thumbnail pic on the right)

also, when setting up a component set lets say in the front doors, is it necessary to have the x-overs near the speakers or can they go like in the trunk and then run the wires up to the speaker and tweeters?

thanks guys

Battery Terminals... http://www.google.com/products?q=battery+terminal

And a lot of people run the X-over up front due to the significantly less amount of wire you have to use to wire the speakers. Don't put them in the door, though. They'll rust in less than a minute.

yes, thats what happened with my last set up, I went to take out the x-overs and the screwes were all rusty.. still worked but didnt like the idea of it being so rusty like that

also, I am looking for the ones in the pic.. not just the basic battery terminals. I think the ones in the pic will be better for my install.

Your local audio shop should have those battery terminals. I got one the other day from mine that had 1 0 gauge and 2 4 gauge outs for 10 bucks.

I just found the small thumbnail lol. Disregard the above //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Cool site. I found these just now on it. I didn't know they made them.

Battery Terminal Solder Slugs
Battery terminal solder slugs were developed as a fast method for attaching a battery lug to a cable. A cost-efficient method that eliminates the need for and expensive crimping tool. Creates a rugged sealed connection for optimum performance. Slugs are color-coded for gauge size to industry standards.
