Yeah, what's your budget and what kind are you looking for?

I just use the hammer crimper from school. In a pinch, I've used a wedge and hammer in the garage. Auto zone and places like that should have one too. If you've only got a few wires to crimp, you could go there and borrow one for free or they can crimp it for you, lol.

I know the local battery shop has one that I've used before. I'd save my money for other stuff and just borrow one. Just my two cents on the matter

At the moment I only have a couple of wires that need crimped. Would like to have one for future use but not a must right now

Some people love hydraulic crimpers, but hammer crimpers work good imo

yes, works great.

but i dont just use a hammer.

i use my vice or my 20ton press.

but ebay has some nice hidro crimpers for about $60

eBay. Hydrolic crimpers like $24-$34 shipped. Work awesome

I started off with a hammer crimper. It works well if you can apply enough pressure. A "standard" hammer will not weigh enough even if you take a huge swing! You have to use a larger weighted hammer from what it seems.

I then got a hydraulic crimper off eBay and it is amazing! Well worth the $40ish it cost. You won't be disappointed with how easy and well it works!
