Back when I was 7 my neightbor had two rotwilers (sp) and a pit. If they saw another dog they didnt like they would mess with them and they where ready to kill if they saw someone messing with one of us little kids. All three dogs got along and when we went swimming in their pool and acted like we where drowning they would jump in and nip us by the hair and and pull is to the side. They where some of the sweetest dogs I had ever been around next to my dog which, as I stated, was a cocker lab mix.

It is all how they are raised and what their interaction with humans is as they grow from puppies to adults.

When I burst my ear drum and thought I just had water in my ear with lots of madd pain so I put a drop of rubbing alcohol in it and felt fire in my head followed by a strange fluid comming out of my ear followed by a very fast trip to the emergency room. I was like 12.
LOL.....

i have decided against akita's since i have children, and they tend to have agression issues w/ smaller animals. beautiful dogs tho. they are also the only breed i've ever been attacked by, but its the owners fault, im petting the dog and they throw a raw tbone steak down in front of it. needless to say it didnt like me at that point

I thought I was the only one that encouraged dogs to attack kids that way. It makes having a dog worthwhile. (Maybe I knew you when you were younger Mike)

Pits are crazy strong too. Ive seen an 85lb pit take down a 300lb boss hog that was attacking his little buddy (a little 40lb mutt puppy). And boss hogs aint shit to play with.
People are scared of pits because rednecks and ghetto people like to beat them and cage them to make fighting dogs out of them...but if they are raised right, they are sweet dogs untill something ****s with their owner/little buddy.

I thought Boss Hog was Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltraine's little buddy...
