When i turn my lights on my speakers stop working.

i have a 1997 saturn. i recently installed a used cd player beings it didnt have one in it. i noticed once i put it in when i turned the headlights on the speakers would stop working. i thought maybe it was the cd player so i went and bought a new one. i just installed that last night and it does the same thing. but also when i wired both stereo's up they had no power unless i put a jumper wire between the two main wires. someone please help.

sounds like maybe you got the illumination wire instead of the acc wire. did you buy a harness or did you cut out the factory plugs?

alright. it doesnt do it all the time neither. sometimes it only works with the lights on.
