depends n the car actually ,some already use 4 gauge ,but most dont .1000 rms isnt alot ,trust me .if your nt going over 1500 rms then the 4 gauge should be fine

off topic, just didn't want to start a new thread.

if i use a 4 gauge ground, and i want to ground 2 amps @ 350rms can i use 1x 4 gauge input and 2x 8 gauge output

i need to use a ground distribution, so if my main wire is 4 gauge, can i use 2 8 gauges, one for each amp

You should be fine with that.

With the big 3, the bigger the wire the better.

4gauge will do the trick (in most cases), but 1/0 is better.

Same with distribution.

ok so i do not want to distribute a ground?
Up to you man, as jar1zx mentioned it's best to ground the amp to different spots.

In my current temporary set up I've grounded 2 amps in 1 spot, worked pretty good, been like that for a couple of months now.
