whcih subs 2 SEs or 1 XXX

Gauntlet, how did those 15se's sound? I was debating on getting either 2 15 Ses or 2 12 SEs powered by a Tsunami 1800T. Did those SE's give you the bass you were looking for or do i need to lean towards 2 12 Sexx's? I listen to alot of hiphop also

Well, I had them in a sealed box being powered by a db1100D and they fuc*ing pounded.....the only reason I'm switching setups is because my trunk doesn't provide enough space to sufficiently port them......they'd knock your socks off in a big ported box.

I can triple that....I have 2 12's in a ported box with a BX1500D, and lets just say this....If you are looking to get two SE's with a BX1500D save up some money for sound dampening because ****.... My SE's hit hard as hell when I feed em the full 1500 watts from the amp....nuts. Dont know how much louder anyone could want it.

Well, i think i found my new subs. I guess i will take either two 12s or two 15s. Now only if i could get rid of my JL's. I have learned my lesson, never buy subs before the amp.

i've got a question that fits this thread... if i were to go with two SE's what amp should i get. all i can find threads on are mono amps for a xxx 15 but i am still kind of partial to 2 12's so i was just wondering. thanks alot

youd want something that does 1200-1600 watts at 1 ohm. RE SEs are 600 rms so you should drive at least the 600 they crave. Personally id probably like to drive 700 or even 800 to each one and they will really start to bark.

mattj you were sayin that you would feed 800 to each.. so would it be better it i just bridged like 2 800 watt amps and spent like $300 or go and try to buy like a 1500 watt 2 channel?

i have a 1500 watt one channel to my 15"se's they pound pretty good. dont forget that with this wattage ur gonna need electrical upgrade. i haven't upgraded mine yet and my 15s fade out afer a few hard hits(on loudest volume) due to no more power for my sub amp. my car only does like 12.5 volts now. i cant wait to see how loud they get once they are seeing a good 13.8 or so volts with my new alt im getting.

ebay......i guess i shoulda found this thread earlier (having my current setups of a single se 15 and a single xxx 15 :blow_up: )

both will have great sq....with the gold going to the xxx for being so dang pretty...and sounding good too sql and spl also go the the xxx....its just a matter of how much money you want to spend...you'll spend about twice for the xxx what you would for the se....but yes imo....you shouldn't ever need louder than a single se 15....the xxx just means you can get louder at much i mean MUCH lower volumes the se's in a 4.5 cu ft box tuned to 35 hz.. the xxx is in about 6.5 cu tuned to 35hz....and man they both wang like mad....i also am running the hifonics 1500 to the xxx and a jbl600.1 to the se...both subs could take a little more power.....but they are both crazy loud....have fun w/ whatever re sub you choose.. i would say go 15's though if you listen to mostly rap...gonna hit the low stuff like you wouldn't believe...if you have any quesitons on either sub just pm me...i've had both subs for about 2 months now so i've had ample time to mesh with both of them
