Whats your thoughts on RE Audio?

i dont know when you people will understand, prices only went up a little to dealers, but direct it went up a good bit,so if you like well built quality products find yourself a good dealer.and the mt line is really impressive,as with all thier products.

had 2 MT's. shit rattled my head so bad i had heachachs for days. sold them (new truck, less space)..Fi SSD's on the way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

like stated above find a good dealer and you still have yout driver of choice for almost the same price as before usamps came in. ive always wanted 2 15" SXs.

I like to buy random woofers on the fly, just so I can listen to them and get an opinion about the brand in general. That way when I say "brand X is OK/good.bad to me" it's from more than just reading about them. Before I could afford even a used RE RE the prices went up and it's no longer feasable for me to pick one up.

IOW, I dunno what to think about RE audio. I want to have an opinion, but can't afford to get one now. =\

you cant afford a 100.00 sub(rere)
Before the price shift, the RE series was practically alone for what you got...with the exception of maybe Tang Band, nobody else had an 8" for that price that could do what the little RE could do. With the direct sales price increase...now you're into a whole 'nother range of drivers, and there is some serious competition. That's what I meant by saying the prices are no longer competitive with the rest of the market. Did the actual quality of the drivers themselves change? No...but people have a lot more options now to consider.

That doesn't make any sense at all. To keep their old cost/quality ratio they'd just have to rebuild their whole line just as good as it is now but with the dropped price tag. It'd make more sense to just revert to the 2004 line with 2004 prices. Even then the new competition would make for hard times with this community.

Just to mention the last 2 woofers I bought were both found on ebay for an average of $15 shipped each. $100 is more for installing in a daily driver and using for 6 months. It's not really that I can't afford it but rather I will not pay for it without a cause more worthwhile than a simple subjective SQ listening session.
