WHats wrong with this sub?

So i decided to pull my older MTX 8000 15" off the bench in the garage and try it again. It wont read the voice coil right, at real low volumes it crackles.... but when you turn it up it plays loud and you cant tell theres anything wrong. Plays just fine, about what id expect from it in a smaller prefab.

So is just a matter of time before it goes completely?

Well ill play it for a while and see how it goes. The crackleing at least can only be heard when your right by the sub. Ill send it to SPL if she blows. THanks for the help.

yea its a lead breaking or a damaged spot on the coil...
