whats wrong with my sub?

i have a kicker impulse sub. i dont know the power rating. if it plays 20-50 hz for about 20 seconds. it starts to smell like burnt plastic. is anything wrong with it?

its an old sub. i dont kow how much power is in it. buy my ampli pushes 800 wats per channel peak. but i turn the gain pretty low.

I would say its blown or pretty close to it. You probably over powered it.

nope, i dunno what it is. i think anytime it started to heat up it smelled like someone started to cook the onion rings
