Whats wrong with chevy cavaliers?

I hear alot of shit talked about cavaliers by people i know (mainly people who race,etc.) but ive always liked them myself actually. I think the new models look pretty good, plus its a small 2d like i want. My gf found one for sale, 2003 model i think, its a 5 speed 2 door thats all i know so far, for 1500. But basically what im wondering is whats so bad about them? a 2003 car for $1500... that should answer yer question right there.

all in all, they arent horrid, but are known to have a lot of mechanical driving issues as well as faulty electronics.

1500 dollars for a 2003 would be a steal, depending on what shape it is in and miles and what not.

I have had quite a few cavaliers from over the years and all have treated me well, besides the one I put NOS on..........haha! Was fast as fawk for a cavalier though.

Owned an 85, 94, 99 and a 2002 and never one problem with any of them, besides the one, but that was my fault.

85 had 200 plus thousand miles on it.

94 was close to 200.

99 was at 100, but replace the engine.

and 2002 had 60k on it. Nothing but general maintenance done to all of them besides the 99.

Lots of people treat Cavaliers like shit because they are a cheap car. if you use it for transportation like they were made for, there is nothing wrong with them.

Im pretty mechanically inclined so maintence wouldnt be a problem, i can most likely change out the engine or ***** or whatever if i ever need to. I know newer cars arent made as good as they used to be, im used to old ones. So this will be my first newer car if i do get one. The same person also has an 03 monte carlo for sale for 2700 i think. If i do end up getting the cavy i would probly do mods to make it run better, like a cold air intake, or maybe other stuff. at least around my way there are a few kids with this who think there hot shit, loud exhaust, drive like asholes ect. they are like SRT-4's in a way. all the kids with them are young and think they are the shit. drive around reving and acting like assbags
