yeah man give those guys the bizness. i loved my 15 DP. it's gonna be stupid loud. they're not gonna believe it.
Don`t you love it when you show them that they don`t know everything...just love it when you shut their mouths pricless!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifHaha. This is so true. I was sitting (an 8 hour wait) in a shop. Some guy had a DD9512 with a good sized box with i think a z1 or something pushing it. He was there for some custom door panel work. Well they didnt mess with his audio system. But i remember him coming in and they asked him what company his amp and sub were from and he said DD. They said they never heard of it and he should of bought a RF T1 instead.
So the car owner walks to his car and just lets it rip. After that, the shop was asking again who DD was but with amazed looks in their faces.
The spectum analizing thing is pretty accurate if you want to set up your car's EQ for a relatively flat frequency response, because few can get it close by ear. Paying for a couple hours with the guys at the shop I frequent and an RTA did wonders for my system.Gotta remember that the local guys are trying to make a living, so they WILL look down on anything they didn't sell you. I just try to be polite and don't mention what I have unless they ask.
I picked up a SVR battery a few weeks ago at a local place and the guy was telling me how JL had 11 patents and made the best sub in the world, blah blah. That I needed to use a spectrum analyzer to tune my front stage, etc... Of course he sold JL subs and offered the SA tuning as a service. I wouldn't have played it for him if he asked, NO win situation.
I agree with you, but this guy was cramming it down my throat like NO car should even have the speakers played unless an RTA has been used to EQ everything. The spectum analizing thing is pretty accurate if you want to set up your car's EQ for a relatively flat frequency response, because few can get it close by ear.
