Whats this Volt thing?

700W x 1 RMS (4ohm, 14.4V, 1% THD+N)

What determines this? Can anyone explain?

With that voltage being put into the amplifier (from an external power source (battery)) it will put out that wattage...

Oh, I thought so but I thought that all cars were 12V.... Is it just how the car comes or can you change it to 14v?

It is a 12v system, but can be tweaked to increase/decrease the current voltage. A high output altenator helps greatly, as well as a new battery (batteries come in different voltages as well), and even the Big Three helps this. More voltage going into the amp yields a higher output, but the voltage input is not unlimited...

It's usually 13-15v when the vehicle is running.

Ok gotcha. Upping the Voltage up to and not exceeding 14V would be safe for all the electrical components correct?

You should be alright with most electronics to about 15v, many stock vehicles read mid 14v's...

your battery is usually 12~13v when the car is off [depending on how long it sits], and when your alternator is charging the system, i should jump to 13.5~14.5

test this with a multi-meter on your battery terminals set to Direct Current Voltage [aka, DC \ DCV].

I got 12.45 on the batt not running. I got just shy of 14V at the terminal of my amp. So I guess that answers my questions. You guys rock.
