Whats this sound like to you?

I sold my fusion fjl 1611d to some guy off c/l, i never had problems outta the amp. pushed my solo x, pushed my mojo. i used it 1 ohm all it's life.

He goes to a competition pushing a rd alpha 15. texts me and tells me that the amp is shit. it will work for 15 seconds and shut off. i have never myself ran the amp without extra support of batteries in the back. 1/0 run all the way through. except for a .5 ft of 4ga. from distro to the amp. and 1/0 ground never had a problem. he has 4 ga. run all through out. only to the amp. thats it. he said after 15 seconds it will shut off to protect.

What do you think his problem is? I know it's not the amp.

i believe he is pushing it til the battery lowers and goes protect on him. and when it charges enough comes back on.

i told him. do you have any extra batteries. he was like no. but i have a yellow top.

he just doesn't have enough to use the amp as hard as he is pushing it. could have gains way too high also. meet up with him and put it in ur car and show him it works fine. tell him its a big boy amp and he's just not ready for it. he should know he needs bigger wire. then take the amp and tell him he's a noob and just drive off.

Too many variables. Could have bass boost too high, gains too high, not big enough wire or the amperage to the amp, voltage too low. Did he give you any more information on that kind of stuff?

I wouldn't do that just because he might have messed up the amp already and even with a good enough system it'll still go into protect. I'm all for the jacking of the amp though.
