Kicker SQ sucks, ask Polecat...

imo tracey is just being nice. alot of people say sq comp cars dont have to "sound good" but for every single person i heard say this that comped their system their system imaged really bad amongst other things. fact of the matter though the challenge to an sq comp is the samething sq (audiofile) buffs go after in great detail. point i find amuseing is die hard sq buffs that dont compete over look alot of audiofile details when doing a car. alot of those same people have harsh words for getting railed at a comp, when in fact all they have is themselves to blame for not going over the rules. im not bashin anyone but there is alot more to sounding good and sounding bad than alot of people here give credit too. alot less than 40% of the end result is the product used. that also lends itself to product usage but that comes with familiarity most of the time.

The true competitor is just in it for the fun - if they start pointing fingers, and get pissed off and start complaining and saying...this judge is biased to this brand...and these amps **** and couldn't possibly sound good - they are obviously in it for the wrong reasons. Competition is not all about winning...not in my book!

L7 8"s sound sweet fo sq....

i did a s10 single cab with four L5 8"s and it was using a arc audio xxk1500. it sounded amazingly good.

My L7s sound really good and still get loud, its almost as good as my dads SQ setup (a long shot lol)

what does your dad have? my dads car has a SQ setup. it has an alpine 9855, dynaudio system 240gt, two w7 8"s, zapco c2k 6.0 and 4.0, and a zapco sx-sl eq. it sounds amazing. the bass is just as accurate as every sq car i have ever been in. the highs/mids are plain pimp shit. i love the way it sounds, just doesnt pound as hard as other things, but that isnt its purpose.

wen ended up putting in a different box with the focal 5.25" subs.

The Solo X is the tag woofer for SPL, but for daily, the L7 will suffice. But I'm using a Solo X 12" daily...musically, in this moderately small box, sounds amazing.
