My response was more in reference to the noob trying to give advice rather than asking questions and Jmac smacking him down. Quite funny after a few beers.

You should set it to 1/2 an octave below tuning (which is conversative itself, especially w/ today's high-Xmax subs), which is 0.75*TUNING and, in this case, is 26 Hz ...

Setting the SSF @ 32 Hz means you're already -3 dB @ 32 Hz, which means you're taking a huge portion of output away @ tuning, which is highly unnecessary considering that's where you have the least movement ...

Honestly I know you dont know me and such, but this guy seems like he knows little of car audio, and for all we know he is sending that 3200rms(which i dont know if its a joke or not) to a 1500rms sub. I would not want to throw that much to a sub(rated as I stated) in a ported box at a frequency much below tuning. I was just trying to help him not blow up a sub. Notice how i speciefied (easy to understand).

what did you search for?
below box tuning the sub will reach its mechanical limits quicker with less rms watts.(moving in and out in easy to understand terms) that is unless your amp had a suitable sub sonic filter.

If he truly had a 3200 watt amplifier, he would have the experience to know what box tuning is, even if he doesn't know how to do such.
