What's the overall opinion of Elemental Designs?

I have experience with old **** cone 12k's, they are fine, no real complaints about them as I got them cheap as hell for a friend. I've also used edead SE and regular, and I've seen V3, none of which impressed me in the least. I couldn't have possibly applied the edead any better and it still falls off. But once again it was very cheap when I got it, but even at that price I wouldn't buy it again. I've been contemplating buying one of those monstrosities of a 6.5 if I see one used for cheap to hear just how it sounds and look at the build quality further... but have absolutely no intention of running it in my car, I'll stick to my extremi.
I've never filed a complaint with eD and never will, because I won't be buying anything directly from them. I never said anything about their coustomer service, so you must have been thinking about someone else when you asked me how they handled my complaint.

I havn't used any of the eD badged amps, but I have used Avionixx before, and while I don't hate the amp too much, let's just say I don't run it anymore.

No I don't have long standing hardcore experience with all of eDs products, but what I have dealt with, I'm not impressed with. Sorry, that's just how it is.
That's cool. You have formed an opinion and you are certainly allow to express it. I would just say please give your personal experiences to back up claims that you make or I and most reasonable people will believe that you are just blowing a lot of hot air. Statements like eD is a "joke" make no sense without context on how you came to that conclusion.

Perhaps saying something like "eDead is a joke (b/c I used V3 and didn't like it) and I've heard on the internet that some people have problems with eD. That's why I won't buy from them."

This would have been much more appropriate and helpful in understanding your position.

Why are these threads even made? QUOTE]
Threads like this are what seperate the shitty companies run by people like ben milne, and the one's that have awesome customer service, and personable representatives who stand by their product. Its why the better companies get a better rep.

I support companies that support me, and support their product. Not companies that dish off their faulty product, infamously screw people over, and use shady *** marketing techniques/specs.

If i was ****ed over by eD i would raise hell, maybe they would learn the more people they screw over the more they screw over themselves. what goes around comes around.

i had a flatcone 15a for a while, sold it to a friend, and broke almost immediately. but the friend was too lazy to contact eD about it.

The only thing that I didnt like with the whole eD scene is the disgusting *** kissers on the ICIX forum.. its disgusting.. everyone "Shows off" there nearly identical eD systems, and its just lame.

All brand related forums are lame as hell. They talk up the products beyond belief and will never doubt them. Now, onto my opinion about eD. They did have some problems back in the day with the 15A and whatever stuff went on with Ben. They cleaned their act up, IMO. To make it short and sweet, I really like them. They are cool people to talk to and Ben has answered every e-mail I've sent to him within 2-3 days. While their forum is extremely biased, you can find some good info on there if you look around. I was sketchy about ordering a 16Kv.2 but I went ahead and did it. I have yet to install it but when I heard a 13Kv.2 ported off 300 watts, I was very impressed especially for the price of the sub. A guy I talk to online pulled a 134.6 with 1 13Kv.2 ported off 320 watts in a Saturn sedan. That's a pretty respectable # considering such low power. The 13kv.2 is $125 and has a 3 year warranty, I consider that a good deal.

In my mind, I view eD as the "budget internet company." They are nothing like RE. They don't have 5 different lines of subs for specific applications. But they do make nice quality products at very reasonable prices. And buyers like myself are attracted by the price/performance ratio and as I said before, their 3 year transferable warranty is great. Their buildhouse is ID, that itself says quality. The Kv.2 uses the ID basket and has a similar build. In conclusion, most people bash eD and other brands based purely on hearsay. To each their own, I guess //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Please define "fanboi". I see no reason not to say I personally had a good experience and to question others purely to demonstrate a bias on their part.
It is one thing to say that you have heard and read negative comments about a company that have influenced you not to patronize them. It is quite another thing to go around saying a company is "a joke" and "Good at marketing poor quality products".

If you cannot back up what you say personally then you are marketing gossip and what people call a "hater". I guess I would rather be labeled a "fanboi" than be a gossiping hater.

I agree. I haven't had any bad experience with them so I really can't rag on them. The only thing that sucks is the preorder process, but I guess if you don't want to be a part of the preorder or if you're not patient just wait until the sub comes out or buy a sub from another company.

ive used the older ED K 15"s before and it sounded awsome and never had a problem.. on the other hand, i had a RE SE with the normal pop out cone and it broke and the sub wouldn't take power for shi t...

If you have used their products, then you can review. Thats the bottom line. If you havent, read this thread if you want, THATS IT. Very irritating reading the things people say on the internet. I take the things people say on forums with a grain of salt, if that.

Anyways, I have had 15ae's, a nine.2, kv2, edi's and edead v3. None of which i have had a problem with. Not one. Everything runs perfectly fine and totally exceeds my expectations. I overal like the products I have used. I did not comment on things I DID NOT OWN. My .02 cents.
