Whats the difference?

So I have a Pioneer TS-SW2541D... Now I need a amp to mate it with.

Looking at:

Pioneer GM-7200M

Pioneer GM-5200T

Profile AP600

Whats the big differences between these amps (aside from RMS)? Sound quality? What will work best with my sub? Any others I should look at? Is Lightning Audio any good? I am looking to spend under $150...

I listen to rock (metal) about 90% of the time, the other 10% is a tossup between reggae or alternative rock. This is all going in a Mazda King Cab pickup tuck, an little 91' B2600i. I don't care if the car next to me can hear/feel my base, I just want something that sounds good inside my truck.

the 7200m is a mono amp. Frequency response is limited to 240hz on the high side which makes this amp useful only to power a subwoofer.

Its optimal power output occurs at 2 ohms - you'll be running at 4. It's a solid amp, but I don't think you'd be getting your money's worth simply because you'd be running it at ~250w when it's capable of ~360. However, if you can find it cheaper than the other two it would definitely do the job.

The 5200t would be the best option overall IMO.

It has plenty of power (380w bridged at 4 ohms)

It is a basic 2 ch amp, and if you ever decide to use it to power full-range speakers it would work well for that.

Nothing wrong with the profile either. Rated at 300w rms bridged. Might fall a bit short of rated power, but should still be plenty for your 250w sub. If low cost is important to you and you can get it quite a bit cheaper than the other two it might be the way to go.

SQ wouldn't be noticably different between the 3 amps. I would think though, simply due to the headroom that the 5200t would work best.

Profile isnt known for SQ...
How are the Autotek SuperSport series amps in SQ verse the Pioneer?

What about the Crunch Powerzone series or Phoenix Gold Octace-R series?

I definately want good sound quality...

I have MB Quart speaker so I am going to be picking up a 4 channel amp for those as well...

Ok, I have been checking out amps all day and have pretty much narrowed it down to either Crunch Powerzone series amps, or Hifonics Titan series.

Between these 2 the Crunch is definately cheaper. I am going to assume based off of price that the Hifonics is a way better sounding amp??? Whats the difference between these 2 lines? Which ones will sounds better and how much better than the other?

Basically -- Actual power vs. rated power.

Which ones will sounds better and how much better than the other?
In the big picture I think the overall quality of HF vs. Crunch is similar. For me the issue with Crunch is that they always dance around the power ratings.

With HF - they might be a bit over-rated, but for the most part you know what you're getting.

If you're convinced actual power output is about equal there's not going to be a significant SQ difference between HF and Crunch.

Thanks for the info. I actually just ran across a smokin deal on a used Fosgate P5002, so I picked that up. Its more power than my sub can handle but it will leave me room for expansion in the future...
