whats the difference sq-spl?

The difference, regardless of box type, is that a box designed for sound quality has a wider and more flat response curve while an SPL box is designed to produce huge acoustical gains within a narrow bandwidth. The trade off there is that SPL boxes roll off steep above and below tuning.

And sealed boxes can't be SPL boxes, because they do not produce any acoustical gains. That said, they're okay for sound quality except that they have to be huge in order to reach down to the sub bass region.

Scratch that, I used those dimensions for net volume. Where yhe dimensions you provided of the outside of your box or internal?

I know its tuned to 55 box is 38x18x14 port is 8" round 14" deep
If those are outside dimensions and the baffle isn't laminated, then the box is tuned at ~43.5 Hz. That's more of a burp box than a sound quality box.

If they're internal dimensions, the box is tuned at ~37.5 Hz. That's a decent tuning for a daily box, as it would reach a bit lower but also be strong where most music has bass.
