whats the deal with the L7?

I have 1 12" L7 and 2 12" L5s but i just want to run the one L7 becuase i had the two L5s hooked up and they were TOO loud for me. Really would like some SQ, but i hear this sub lacks in this catagory. Would putting it in a sealed box make it sound better than in a nice ported box? It doesnt sound bad in the ported box and deff. wangs enough for me, but want to build a sealed box for it. I may just try it and see how it sounds , but what do you guys think.

Whats the tuning of the box? Tune lower.....low 30s or even high 20s...

I dunno what its tuned to or how to find out. Im sure i could get some deminsions but i dont think they will say what it is tuned to. If i build a box and tune it to 29-31HZ it should sound better?

SQ has much more to do with the enclosure than the sub...

just put it in a reasonably sized ported box (to keep group delay low) and tune fairly low (lets say near 30hz), LARGE port (to keep vent veolcity low... this also improves output), and deaden your trunk/rear deck (at lower volumes the rattling can be louder than the sub... and whats sound quality when you can't hear sh*t?)

SQ has more to do with the front stage than the sub. If you set up the front stage to provide ample midbass, you can cross the sub over much lower and it will play a very minor role in the actual SQ of the system.
