its not behind the deck that's the problem for me. Its the antenna motor I think it makes a terrible grinding noise when it goes up and down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Has more to do with the antenna than the vehicle. Get one of those giant antennas that I think is used for like CB or Hamm radio or whatever, you know the ones that are like 10 feet tall, it'll give any vehicle perfect reception.
Maybe...I tried locating a replacement high end antenna for my '99 and just could not locate anything...in my new '08 the antenna setup looks identical but for some reason, the reception is much, much better. Not sure if it has to do with the antenna or 10 years of re-engineering the Silverado they finally got the electrical right. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
I know my wife got a lil cheap sony head unit and it has the best reception I ever seen in a radio. She picks up stations that I cant with my pioneer DEH-6000UB. SO maybe it has to deal with the radio or the antenna or the car. who knows. I been itch ing to trying my Poineer in my wifes car to see if it picks up the same stations as her sony.
