What's the best solution?

I have a 07 mazda 6 with a big 3 up grade. The alternator put outs 90amps, and i still have voltage drops. My headlights dim and pretty much nothing else. All together the amps i use are 2000 watts and rated for 80 amps at peak. I know i'm more than likely looking at getting a high output alternator. I'm probing for a additional solution. My understanding is that all extra batteries do is allow you to play music with the car turned off longer. What's a more powerful front battery going to do for me if anything?? What's the next move here.

rule of thumb is 1 ampere for every RMS watt.

If your running 2000RMS, you need at least 2000 amperes of battery output.

Slap a big batt under the hood, maybe another in back. If you still have hardcore dimming/voltage issues, get an alternator.

12 v * 1 amp = 12 watts.

What the fuck are you talking about?

2000 watts = 12x*.8 = 209 amperes

Again... What the fuck are you talking about?!

Also, a battery is just a bandaid... much like Capacitors. You need a bigger energy source or else the batteries will die. Get a H.O. Alt if RMS is >= than Resting Voltage * Alternator Amperes * .8. Even if it's close, upgrade.
