take ur favorite cd to local car audio shops, listen to all the diffrent comps each store offer's, then pick on ur budget and how the speakers sound to you

Most of you posers are deaf in one ear IMO........First off

IkeSound is the worst internet seller in the world

Secondly Pioneer has not make a speaker worth a **** in like 20 years

Third and lastly listening to a set of speakers at the car audio store

is IMO one of the worst way to demo a set of speakers.......ESP with some lame *** salesman in your ear hyping you that his stuff kicks all ***! Like them JL guys do........

I went out and bought 6 pairs of comps and installed them all in my truck one at a time sending them back one by one in dissaproval till I found a set worthy of my ears.........

big names = big dissapointments

That maybe a bit overstated, but at some level he is right. Speakers are subjected. What may sound good to some, may not be what you are looking for. In my opinion, there are 3 good choices to at least start your search from. Image dynamics, polk momo, and rainbow. All all good quality. It's at least a good place to start. Good luck!

Poser huh?? I own a A/V Store and if you came in and "borrowed" a set at my shop 6x's I would have kicked you in the nuts. I actaully have the Pioneer's in my truck and get compliments on them all the time. I wasn't telling him to buy from Ike it was just a quick pic and price point. We actually build cabinets and can put speakers in a customers car to get a feel for what they would sound like. We also let them know that the actual install compaired to the cabs will be different, but we aren't hyping lame shit and pushing the biggest profit stuff out the door. Maybe that is why we do more 10-20k $$$ installs a month than anybody close to me.

Hmm let's see this week, we worked on a NSX, Nomad, 08 Escalade, and 2 boats.

But Im a fkn poser.... I am so tired of these guys with high post counts lurking to make "cool" posts to feel like they run this place.

pioneer 720prs. they are GREAT speakers, anyone that owns a pair has great things to say about them. ive gotten other comp sets trying to get something better and i always put the pioneers back in. only other comp set ive heard that i REALLY liked were focals.

sadly, buying comp sets is a lot of trial and error. you'll get one set and probably think its lacking in something. then get another set and another till you find what you like. it's worth taking the time to go around and listen to a lot of people's cars and find something you like.

ok so this guy is a tool, as many of the members on here are. Pioneer makes a great set for around 300, the 720 PRS. We put a set in my dads Cutlass and they are nice. I have owned many: DLS, Morels, old school Diamond, and now have Helix components and the Pioneers are really nice for the money. I would wait til you get back, but look at the Morel Tempos and def the Pioneer Premier 720's. Just to get an idea of what you are looking for.
