Whats the best 12" Subwoofer for Quality?

man jus listen to this i'm running 2 Alpine Type-r 12's...with a pos pioneer amp going at 300 watt's bridged... now i know that ain't no system but today i read around bout people with polyfill and the dynomat tryen to get more bass out of their system...tired of haven junk sound i go and look for cloth and sheets that are thik enuf to stuff my speaker boxes and hell...u ought to try it..stuff u already have at your house. omg base it better and so is the clarity of the speakers. even tho it is jus 300 wats it's owning my friends 2 pioneer 600 watt speakers on a 1000 watt pyramid amp...lmao now he won't even talk to me. plus it's not about the price and the watts ur looken for...it's how much they can take i've seen plenty of speakers offer 800 watts and could only handle a 500 watt amp so u jus gotta talk to people bout their personal opinion's. personally i'm looken for the bass and the quality of the person tryen to rap to the track instead of bumping so loud old people fall down with their walkers...=P yall holla back about the speaker fill deal cause u might think it's dumb as hell untill u try it...later

Gersh didn't know i was gonna get schooled by teachers sorry. anyhow the main thing was about the polyfill deal vs something original that you already had from your house. Like i said i put some sheets like u'd put on a bed into my speaker boxes for my alpine's and helped the base out major. Althought those sheets aren't made to be in a box polyfill is and i was wondering if anyone had used a common house item like this to help out their system. Also, today shopping for amps i noticed that i could by a Sound Storm amp 2 ch 820 watts for 99$..while a rockford faulsgate amp at 1 ch,1000 watt runs 1000$ so whats the deal? I'm Very New to buying speaker parts like this so if anyone could tell me the reason behind such a cost and the factors that make it why please, have at it....i hope u guys can read it and not joke about my typermatical skilllllz

well i only ever used a fill once.....didn't like the sound but hey....it coulda been a less than suitable situation for the fill

on the amp question...well first of all that sound storm is rated at max power....which mean's practically nothing in the real world...it's RMS power(continuous power) is probably only half that max power...and that max power was probably overrated too, whereas the rockford was probably rated at rms power and rockford usually rates their amps pretty close to what they will really put out....and the quality between the two amps' in undeniable.....but you are paying for the RF name when you buy the rockford sound storm simply can't jack up their prices like rockford can because they dont' make as high quality products and they don't have the reputation that rockford does...hope that helps answer the questions

yeah thanx alot...heh stayed up a whole 2 hours to find out the answer =).Anyhow inbetween waiting i ordered the soundstorm 840 watt amp. i knew it was a bad decision but i'm on a pretty good budjet right now. All i'm looken to get out of my system is jus a good enuf thump to make everything rattle which i'm sure it will. the 300 watt pioneer i have bridged gets too hot and cuts off when hard bass hits so i'm basically tryen to eliminate that. I know these Alpine type-r's are hella bad so what kinda amp should i really get if i decide to take it back?

Get an Alpine MRd M500. It will be a perfect match for those subs. I had a MRB M300 and it kicked ***. A very very nice amp IMO and can be found on ebay for a resonable price.

well i checked on ebay for the price and it's running a constant 275$. i don't have a ported box but i plan on getting something like polyfill because i've seen what it can do. the thing is i only paid 100 bux for both my alpine's and now i'm on the high of getten everything on a deal..heh. i'll ask a few of my friends what kinda deal they can get me on this amp i figure if anything he'll bend over backwards to make a seel. i'll let ya guys know how it went when i find out...holla bak

I've used the cotton inside pillows as pollyfill before and it seems to help. I got this idea from somewhere else before and the thing that convinced me was how empty rooms sound like, compared to a room with cotton furniture. It helps sound stay more clear and cleaner.

yeah my friend bought sum pillow fill for his speakers and said they preformed with lower bass. well i got another question i have a huge *** ported box for 2 12's and then a sealed box that my 12's come with. I know that the sealed is crisp but i'm going for bass..i've got 6x9 and door speakers for singing and etc. i have a 96 plymouth breeze same body as a 96 dodge stratus. i'm jus wondering if i'm looken for hard hard hits with my alpine's what should i use? i know i could jus go out there and take em out and put it in but i want the opinons here cause i want bass! and another thing can the speaker wire gauge really help out? i'm running sum pretty small wire right now and could buy the 16 gauge and it's huge compaired to what i have..i jus wanna know would it make a diffrence? add me to your msn if u wanna holla bak there..slipknot_fawker@hotmail.com anyhow holla bak

well i jus got my Sound Storm 800 watt amp today. have to say it's doing it's job but, after i turn it up a good bit it starts getten distorted on mah alpine's!!! their in a sealed box and the amp can be turned up a whole lot more. but i'm pleased with what i'm getten out of it very very very crisp. anyhow tommarow i'm going to try out my ported box and see how it goes none the less my sound storm amp has a 6 year warranty so..u can't beat that, holla bak

Ha. I think you mean 6 MONTH warranty. No company has a warranty like that, even the best companies. There is no way an amp you paid $100 for is gonna have a 6 year warranty. If i am wrong, please prove it.

well it has a 1 year full replacement warranty then a 5 year warranty to replace it but i can't get the money out of it. so hell decent huh =). well i'm kinda pissed after buyen my Alpine's i found out on both speakers that 1 side of them has a problem with the hook ups. one side is jus burnt up all to hell and the otherside looks like sumone jus wripped it out..=( is there a way to fix this or taken it to an audio store be the best idea..anyhow i only payed 100 bux for both speakers so i guess i'm jus running 2 ohm possible of 4 ohm right? anyways tell me what the deal is or if u know of how to fix it thanx
