I need a new project for my Drafting/Design class, and i was kind of pondering the idea of playing around with fiberglass because my teacher wants us to start experimenting with it. Would be a great excuse to make an enclosure and get class credits for it!

I wouldnt mind making up a fully formed enclosure for the cargo area of my explorer, but cost sounds like it might be an issue. Whats it cost all you glass monkeys to do a bigger project like this? with paint and whatnot.

it cost me **** near $80 to do door pods. shit aint cheap. that is including resin, mat, a ton of brushes, cups, extra hardner, bondo, etra cream hardner, fleece, gloves, masking tape, aluminum foil, extra glue, dowels, sand paper, and i didn't have to buy any wood

got about $20 on brushes about $60 on resin about $40 in mat and then a sheet of mdf, paint i have no idea, oh yeah and you also need some type of filler, sandpaper, etc. i hope you got some money to throw around, but if done right you will be happy in the end, and just think how much someone else would charge you to do this work, so you save and lose at the same time

dang 80 bucks for door pods? i was thinking an enclosure to custom fit to th whole cargo space in my explorer hehe. I was shooting around $200 bucks, but i think i can score some materials from my shop teacher, so i'll have to look into this i guess.

i bought $80 worth of material to make kick pods, but i had extra fiberglass, extra hardener, and resin left over... so i would say 50-60 might be able to do it?

sub box shouldn't cost more than $120 or so even for two 15s...
