Whats better than JL and cheaper?

I have a 97 Mustang Convertible and I'm doing a full system soon and I'm going for SQ. For the sub I was thinking 1 JL 12w6v2 in a sealed box powered by a JL 500/1. Can I get something thats just as good or better for less money?

Well pretty much anything under what the JL sub/amp combo would cost. That is what I wanted to get, but if I can get something better thats cheaper, why not.

i'd get a kx600.1 instead of the JL, more power, same quality(imo), and is cheaper. as for subs the w6v2 is one nice azz sub amazing sq, so i'd say stick with it but get a cheaper amp.

ohh i just have to add KMK is the best band all time.

you can the jbl BPX 500.1 for a good price which is up there with the jbl if you ask me

IMO, if you want the SQ (or close to) the W6 has w/o the price, get an Elemental Designs Ov series... **** good SQ and they can get pretty darn loud too... get a Nine.2x (600x1@4ohm) to go with a D2 sub and you're set...

ya dude.....kx series kickers are the shit. pretty much same shit as the zx (same boards) and since the zx's are out, kx prices have goen down a lil. jl amps are stupidly over priced, and from what i hear wont handle lower imp's than rated for. kickers run below rated imp all day every day. my 2 ohm rated kx 2500.1 runs 1 ohm off 12v and rarely, rarely get more than warm. for the money, you can do way better than a jl amp. kicker is the shiz....
