whats better tab or ipad ?

My android phone has two options when connection via usb to another device "MEDIA device" (MTP) and "Camera" (PTP). I leave mine on MTP and my pioneer H/U sees it with no error. Not sure if it works same way for your tablet but check anyway just in case your table is on "Camera" PTP.

Worth as shot I guess.

ya have seen that on mine and its set for media mtp .

i dont get it really. the tab is seeing the h/u and the h/u is seeing the tab. but i cant get it to play from my tab to h/u .. ( bluetooth )

so i use the 3.5 jack on tab to 3.5 jack on h/u .

i tried using the 30pin cable to usb ( my h/u have usb on face . it says incompatible usb ....

so i ordered a 3.5 ( at tab ) to usb ( at h/u ) want to see if i can play throw usb on h/u . its taking forever to get here. must be coming from japan .

I have an older pioneer H/U with usb. I can get the model tomorrow as I'm in for the night.

Now I might have mistaken your problem. I thought you were having an issue with the radio recognizing your tablet. It does but you cannot get the radio to play your music files on your tablet. Is this correct?

My radio does recognize my phone but I don't use it to play music. I simply use a usb key. I should try it tomorrow to see what happens.

Now you mention something about bluetooth? Was that what you were originally trying to do?

Do some research about your tablets android version and hooking up to a car radio via USB. Some versions did not support it. Something to do with mass storage or something along those lines.

You can't be the only one who has tried with your h/u and an android device, specifically with regards to USB. Based on my quick searches, alot of people have this issue.

Post up what android OS version your tablet has and I'll do more digging.

wow thanks.

i have not looked at them sites yet.. but i will.

my h/u shows its connected to bluetooth from tab. but on my h/u it only shows for phone calls by b/t .

ok i was just out there screwing with both tab and h/u ..... i got bluetooth working. i can play my tab. throw my h/u by b/t but it sounds like shitttttttttt i mean shittt.

i downloaded an app on my tab and got it working. but does not sound good at all.. im pissed..

i can only use my 3.5 to 3.5 cable to play throw my tab.

i was told if i can get it to play throw the h/u usb i can use the h/u da converter. was told it will sound so much better? i dont know.

I did read that people use an FM transmitter but from my experience back in the original satallite radio days, the quality was not that great. Maybe things have changed since then.

In general, does bluetooth cause poor sound quality?? Or is particular to your situation?

I wish I new... everbody uses it so it must soung good just not sure why mine sounds like crap.

im surprised I got it to work at all. Im going to mess with it som more to see if it some adjustment on my tablet.

if not well tnat will **** as I have been trying to get it to work for the past week....

I think your best bet is to join one of the android forums and post up there including XDA, etc.

Personally for me, when something gets to annoying or frustrating I resort to the simpler option like simply using a usb stick to listen to MP3's on my H/U. Life's to short to rack your brain on something like this. Just my 2 :p

why are you bent on using Bluetooth if it is going to be permanently mounted in the dash. direct connection is always the best option. 2 many if's when it comes to wireless. Bluetooth compresses files in cars.

i dont want to permanently mount it.

if i get a ipad then yes. if i decide to just use my tablet then no.

why,,,, because there are others that use this tablet. so if i get an extra one ( im going to get a ipad ) then i can mount it.

hello,

i have a tab 2 10.1 wifi 16g gt-p5113 with version 4.2.2

i did order this.

Amazon.com: Gino Black USB A Type to 3.5mm Jack Plug Audio Data Cable for MP3 Mp4: Computers & Accessories

and thinking about getting a 30pin to rca's . i can connect that to the back of my h/u as it has audio in ( rca )

see what im trying to figure out is...

do i just mount it on top of my console ( ill have to do that if i use the 3.5 jack as its on top and 30pin is on bottom ( charge cord )

if i get a 30 pin to rca ill just have 1 plug into my tab. then i can make i slid in mount.

or screw it all and get a ipad lol..lol.

but i want to see what options i have now.

and whats going to sound the best ( 3.5 jack or usb or ....

I read in a few random posts that android 4.2.2 was suppose to fix and address the poor Bluetooth audio quality when used with a car radio or other music devices

Did you update your tablet from 4.2.1? If so, I found this (not for your exact device but more about your OS version) which has some interesting info Google still doesn't fix Bluetooth in 4.2.2 : Android

I don't know how android savey you are but if later versions of android have less of an issue with your blue tooth problem (most likely), why not install a custom ROM since you are already rooted. You will get many other benefits as well from installing a custom rom, no bloat, better perfomance, etc.

If you go to XDA and find your device, all the instructions WILL BE in the section for your device. Installing custom roms is rather easy, especially once you get the first install under your belt.

Just a suggestion, why spend money on an IPAD if maybe a new android version might suffice, AKA, install a custom rom with a new android version.

I was very nervous doing my first custom rom install on my galaxy phone, after the that, i didn't even give a second thought. I do it when I get an itch for something different.

Just follow ALL instructions carefully for the specific rom and you should be fine.
