Whats Better?? Co-ax Or Comp

Component will be the unanimous response.

Separate tweet and woofer offer cleaner sound, improved power handling, as well as a more on-ear-level sound stage.

Summed it up perfect.

Coax are ok if your on a very tight budget or not too concern about finer detail in your music, but consider its plenty of budget comps under $100, I feel its a no brainer. Buy some comps.

Wrong. In theory, a coax is a more ideal setup, as it offers a single point sound source. As a matter of fact, alot of SQ competitors these days are mounting comp sets braxially (tweeter on top of mid like a coax).
Comp sets generally offer improved power handling due to the better xover (cap and coils) and the use of better speakers (usually). But that's not the fault of the mounting style. Again, if you want to discuss sound stages and such, the fewer sound source points the better.

I am VERY pleased with running only 1 set of comps in my kicks, keeps up with the bass very well.

Really? I thought with proper time alignment and driver placement component sets were better? I'll take your word for it... learn something new everyday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I take it using a coaxial set in a traditional door placement with them firing off-axis would definitely not be as good as a component set with the woofer off-axis and tweet on-axis right? Would this be an instance where comps would prove to be better?

It would depend on the tweeter in question. I have a set of Adire Koda's for example that the tweeters are meant to be played off-axis, and perform poorly when aimed directly at the listener.
As for giving specific which is better examples, I hate doing that, as I was only speaking in terms of pure theory. Single point sourcing is but one of many aspects that must be considered when setting up a true SQ system.

Either can work well in a daily set up. If leaning more towards the SQ side of things plan to spend some decent $$$ on good coax's if you go that route...

Hmm.. I'm quite interested in checking out these sq coax's... just out of curiosity. Just as a ballpark, how expensive are these sq coaxials?

Just trying to learn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
