What's a reasonable cost for a 8-9c sealed box?

its 8 cubes because its been talked about in a previous thread, for my application and the sound i want (low, low, low, low, low and deep) an 8 cube sealed is what ive been told would be better than a ported tuned super low. plus the sealed would hit the notes better. i dont care to get insanely loud.
IF you don't want to be loud then why do you have a 18 inch XXX?

well i mean i like to be loud, but im not tryin to hit like 150db's or some shit.

and from what ive heard, XXX is top of the line when it comes to SQ+SPL

and they said ported will be louder, but sealed will go lower and sound better doing it. but it wont get AS loud as a ported.

You could buy the MDF, screws, and glue yourself. Have home depot or wherever you get it cut it. Then have them assemble it. It should not take more than 2 hours for them to assemble (that's even generous).

Materials, like mentioned above, about $70

2 hours of labor, about $150

TOTAL, about $220

That seems the way to get the most out of your money. They wont be designing anything, just doing the labor. Honestly, I do not trust most shops to much else besides the actual labor.

It's too bad you're not close to me as I would build it for the cost of wood and a 4 pack of some Samuel Smith's imperial stout.

If it's wasn't so big and if I had time to do it here, I would basically do it for the cost of wood and shipping.

props&thx to immacomputer for the design and all the help. first class shit.

I have not had any experience with places like Home Depot cutting any lumber or anything, but I can see how it will be a concern. What you should do is just bring a tape measure and the measurements. After he is done cutting, check it yourself to make sure everything is right. The box is nothing complex at all. It shouldn't be a problem.
