whats a good double din?

I installed a W200 in my F350 a few weeks ago. I love it! I got it for $799 from SavingLots.com, which seems to be a kick-a$$ price. I also installed the PAC TR-7 video bypass and the PAC SWI-ALP to hook it to my stock steering wheel radio controls. It all works perfectly. I also put in an XM tuner and the iPod cable, with my iPod in the glove compartment. Alpine's new FullSpeed iPod integration really works well. And it is *fast*. I have 4800 tracks on my iPod and I can navigate around to any song I want about 95% as quickly as doing it directly on the iPod. It was this new iPod integration that really sold me on the 2006 Alpines over any other head unit.

Now I'm just waiting on my PXA-H701, Germaniums, and Stealthbox to arrive next week. Those and my 3 Carver amps should leave me with a pretty nice sounding truck. :)

Dude, that is an amazing price. I just got my W200 yesterday, along with the TR7. I had to prepay for the 701, so now I am just waiting for it to arrive before I install everything. It's going in my '04 Explorer. I went with this combo, manly because of the 701 and it's features, the fact that I have always liked Alpine, and I really wanted a flush mount vs a flip-out. Speaking of flush, do you have any pics of your install? Seems like with no modification that the actual screen of the unit will stick out about 3/4" compared to where a normal head unit would sit. The trim piece that comes with it snaps into the edge at the back of the screen. I'm trying to figure out a way to make this thing sit where the front face of the screen is pretty much flush with the surrounding hole in my dash. I know it can be done, and I don't want to pay to have it installed, so I'm just looking for ideas of people who may have already done it that way. Did you just pop yours in as is? I wonder if there is a kit out there to make it sit recessed just enough to achieve this result. I'm assuming I will just need to modify the metal basket that it slides into.

By the way, I've decided to go with a full 5.1 setup. Should be sweet.

Sorry for the highjack! I recommend checking out thw W200 before you make your purchase.
