the + and - terminals of my amp lit up and i fried my amp..i smelled my new SSD's and they had a..different..smell to them. they were only played for a day and a half before i blew my amp..so i dont know if my subs let go when my amp did. i dont know what a blown sub smells like..then again they may just have that new smell to them still? maybe everything was still getting worked into everything else?

just hook up a DMM to the terminals and see if the coils are still good. easiest way to tell

dont have one..but i could take one of my subs to school and use theirs. what will the dmm read if they are good? the impedance of the sub? what if its bad, what will it read?

yes. It will actually give you the Re spec number, but it will be close to nominal impedence

I believe it will read infinite or something like that. I only ever blew one sub way back when. I was an idiot back then and new nothing about audio. I just took it back to the dealer and got it replaced under warranty.

It will either read 0 or some crazy number like 38, 56, 203. It will be obvious...If you have a dual 2 woofer, each coil should read between 1.4-2.3 Depending on how fawked up the DMM is.
