Which would get louder ported with about 1500 watts rms? Also which will sound better?
1) It is somehow funny the number of people that think this question can be answered with the tidbits of information provided in WhiteIce's original question.
2)Which sub would get louder depends on lots of things.
like- what vehicle it's in, how big the box is, the tuning of the box, the thickness of the material you build it out of, is it fiberglass?, what type of amp?, what's your wiring setup?, etc etc.
Truth is there is really no way to tell for sure which sub would be louder or sound better in your car without testing them both...both subs require different size enclosures with different tunings, and the SI Mag's sound freaking AWESOME in a sealed enclosure, porting an SI mag is almost doing it an injustice because of how good it sounds sealed.
3) If you ask which will get louder you probably don't give a
shit about sound quality, you probably just want to ride around with a stock head unit and a line level converter and your Bose factory stereo and "knock like the rest of the big boys in town" so why even asK?
4) But for the sake of arguement, the SI sub is better.
