What's a better 4 channel amp than this?

Hey all...

I have had a JL audio 300/4 amp powering my 4 sets of Boston Acoustic component speakers (RC 820) in my truck for 3 years now......

I wanted to "upgrade" the amp to something better with more power.....

What are your suggestions?

The JL has ben a great amp..... I have no problems with it... Just want something more powerful and better sounding.....

Maybe a MB Quart Qaa4250?

Actually... I'm very seriously considering selling my JL 300/4 and upgrading to a JL 450/4

That's where I'm considering going

I have the RC820's as well and I would recommend you feed them about 150w or so, they really come alive with a boost in power.

So.. Bridge the 300/4 so I get 150w X 2 to the front and get another amp to run the rear 820's?

I have never heard a JL amp, but I am not really a fan of their stuff. Look into the aforementioned brands.

Not Mac, Brax, or Sinfoni.

Edit: I had never seen some of the amps that are listed there but I guess Sinfoni does make some powerful amps.

this guy knows what he's talking about. lol. but i kinda agree with adam, it'll be kinda hard to get brax, mac and sinfoni stuff for $550. it's possible through ebay but its real hard.

Other brands to look into DLS, Arc Audio, and Zapco. Can't go wrong with those. hmmm maybe the original poster can get the new Digital Reference Zapco amps that are coming out. Those new amps come with its own on board DSP. Details, http://forum.elitecaraudio.com/showthread.php?threadid=125886.
