... a HIFONICS BXi1608D mono amp hooked up to 2 KICKER 07CVR154 subs with an Alpine CDA-9884 deck?

I'm on the hunt for a good sound system for around 900$.. and this comes up to around 810$ including shipping

If you have dual 4 ohm cvrs you could/would wire them to 1 ohm that amp puts out 1600w rms @ 1 ohm and you speakers handle maybe 500w rms per?

But it would be good to have if you ever decided to change out your subs

so can you suggest a different amp that would be good with that setup?

Hifonics TXI1008. It puts out 1000 RMS at 1 ohm which would be good for your CVRS.

I'm probably gonna end up getting this amp also.

nothing wrong with going with that amp. just watched the gain. good if you want to upgrade in the future.

Agreed. Keep the amp.

Get teh CVR's and watch the gain, or just buy Type R's. 15" Type R will take the 750 or so rms daily fairly well, and they're not THAT much more expensive. You could probably even find some used if you like.

Edit - R's are roughly 75 bucks more vs the CVR's. If you can afford to do it, do it.

I can get alot with $900 to be honest. Maybe even a whole system (HU, 2 amps, subs, speakers). You don't want to HEAR your music? Sounds like you're only after bass.
