what XOVER do i need for 80-120 htz midbass?

i just want to run a 2way setup in the front, midbass and tweet. i have 2 channels left on my 4 channel amp. and yes the amp has lpf and hpf for each set of channel.

That's perfect then. You put a mid and tweet on each channel. You put a passive crossover between the mid and tweet, preferably one that is original to the tweeter (it will be in the 2-4khz range). The HP crossover in the amplifier will provide the other 80-120hz filter you are looking for to protect the mid from over-excursion. If your amplifier has a built-in HP filter, you DO NOT need a passive filter for the midbass driver.

so i run a speaker wire from the amp to the mid, then from the mid to the passive, then from the passive to the tweeter? that dont make sense. maybe its just me

You run a wire from the amp to the passive crossover that has provisions for a mid and tweet. You then run wires from the crossover to the mid and tweet respectively. You then activate the high pass crossover on the amplifier and adjust it to 80hz.

i know how to run a passive xover but i thought u had another idea of wiring lol. but yea how will the HU setting affect the xover though? if the xover is rated at 500 htz and up the 80 htz HU wont make a differance

no passive needed, use the xover on your amp and set it at about 70hz hp. run that to your mid then from the mid run a wire to your tweeter with a 4.7mf cap in line to the tweeter.

Why do you keep mentioning a 500hz crossover? Drop it.

yea it would be more noticeable in a high power set up. if its low power it wont be bad.

becuz the lowest xover freq i found was 500 htz. and i want lower

also the speaker itself would determine ideal upper cut off frequencies also.

i would just run an active set up if it were me but its costly. ideally you want your midbass upper cut off at about 400-500hz op.

wait the uper cuttoff is what they rate the xovers at? i thought that was the lowest it played? well if it goes up to 500 htz then that passive xover i found is fine. man i wish i would have iunderstood that earlier :/

mine is set at about 65hz low cut off and 400hz upper.

^^just found that link actually and it says woofer mid and tweeter yet its only a 2 way xover?
