What would you choose?

[M3 Upgrade]

I'm upgrading the sound system on my BMW M3 convertible. I listen to classic rock, alternative rock, classic music, country, etc.

For the amps, I'm currently tending towards the Arc Audio 2100 to power two 6.5'' front speakers and the 4150 for two 4'' rear speakers (no space for larger) plus subwoofer.

Questions:

1) What front and rear speakers would you recommend? Cost is not a constraint

2) What subwoofer(s) would you recommend?

2) I have limited space in the trunk where the subwoofer will be located. Would you go with one 10'' or two 8''?

I would really appreciate some guidance. Thank you in advance.

forget the rears put that money towards better front speakers (get a stronger 2 channel arc amp) and 2 8 L7 with as much power as you can afford. you get the fronts installed propperly i think without a doubt you will be more than happy

Thanks for the reply, but what better speakers??? that's exactly what I'm looking for...which speakers should I use???

What about a stronger arc amp? which one would you choose and why?

Look into some Focal Utopias and get an arc amplifer that puts out ~ the RMS watts for the front speakers. Like ^^^ he said forgot about rear speakers ("rear fill") just not needed especially in a small (nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif beautiful) car that you have.

For subs if you're looking for better sound quality I would lean away from the l7's. If price isn't a contraint I would either look into two JL 8w7's or a XXX 10. Both are amazing subs, and should handle about the same wattage. They will also sound better in my opinion.

a pair of Crystal CMPs 8"s, or even ED8A's for subs, and lombardo is right check into Focals and chaeck into my favorite A/D/S, they are extremely impressive, or if you want to spend the money BRAX components

Diamond Audio....all the way around.....yea forget the rear fill. Diamond has an "M3" which is actually their bottom of the line but if you wanted to match up with the car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But seriously the M6 and hex series seperates are amazing, and the M6 10 will handle 800 rms, or the TDX10 will take 800-1000 rms. The M6 will take a smaller box though. the mounting depth on the TDX is somewhere around 9-10 inches. But they all sound GREAT!!!!!!
